A Perfect Stay in the Heart of Alfama!

I had an absolutely incredible experience staying at this apartment in Alfama. From the moment I arrived, the host went above and beyond to make me feel welcome—warm, responsive, and full of great local recommendations that truly made my stay special. It felt less like checking into a rental and more like being welcomed by a friend.

The apartment itself was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the comforts of home. Waking up to the sounds of the historic neighborhood and enjoying a coffee with views over the charming streets below was unforgettable.

Alfama is one of the most authentic and atmospheric neighborhoods in Lisbon, and this location couldn’t be more perfect—steps away from fantastic restaurants, live Fado music, quaint alleyways, and viewpoints with stunning city and river views. Staying here made it easy to explore the best of what Lisbon has to offer.

Alfama 8848 which is down stairs on the Main Street about 4 shops away. They are amazing and the food is superb!

Alexandra is and amazing host. She responds very quickly to messages and would occasionally check in to make sure everything was in order. The apartment is very cozy and has amazing views of the water and cross breeze. Internet was fast and reliable. Neighborhood is amazing and vibrant. AC worked really well and I was surprised to see the filter looked like it had been recently cleaned which is not the case with most shorter term rentals. I was sad to have to leave and I would absolutely stay here again!! A few things that are neither good nor bad to keep in mind. There is no elevator and quite a few flights of stairs which is good for cardio but not the most accessible if you have mobility issues. The refrigerator is not a full size one. Has a small freezer drawer. Should be fine for most people. I had no issues fitting what I needed. Shower is on the tighter side. If you are a larger person may be a bit tight. Ceilings are a bit low especially in the bathrooms. Should be fine unless you are really tall.

Vibrant and classic neighborhood.

We had a good stay in Lisbon. Appartment was cozy, the hight of the appartment was a bit low (but we have the Dutch length 😜).

This flat was so lovely. Spectacular views, every appliance one needs, clean, quiet, and the neighbors in the building who have lived there for years are wonderful people. The stairs are a big climb but so worth it. I will come back and stay here.

Neighborhood
The Alfama is the most authentic neighborhood in Lisbon. Fado is native to it as is the Museum of Fado. More restaurants per square meter than anywhere. It feels less touristy than surrounding neighborhoods.

We had an amazing 2 months in Lisbon in this flat. The flat and the views are even better than it looks in the photos, the owner was very responsive to messages too. Would definitely recommend ☺️
