The good:
- Well located - close to the metro
- Nicely decorated

To be aware of:
- The listing is not entirely accurate. There is no balcony, there is no oven (there is an airfryer and microwave), it says regular cleaning service is included in the rent but the owner asked me to pay an extra 30 euros a week for this (after a bit of an awkward conversation, she agreed not to charge me).
- the list of rules given when I arrived says "no guests".

HOST'S REPLY:

1. The windows are very tall and have a “varandim” which is a typical Portuguese architecture feature that enables a window to have full body access. It translates as “balcony” in English. It maybe misleading for an English speaking person.
2. The appliance is both an Oven and a Microwave as per the manufacturers instructions which may be found in the premises.
3. The contribution to the cleaner is optional and it is communicated as such to the guests.
4. As far as extra guests, we always do the courtesy of providing extra towels should the guest ask for it.
5. We pride ourselves of the utmost, transparent and friendly communication with our guests.

Neighborhood
Well located and trendy area.

I had a lovely two months staying at Maria’s apartment.
Everything you need (groceries, cafe, restaurants) is within a few minutes walk. The rest of Porto is just a few minutes
further.

The studio is lovely and well appointed, and Maria is a friendly and attentive host. I couldn’t have asked for more.

Great experience staying at Maria’s studio. It’s very good location, steps away from supermarket, subway, walking distance to some tourist attractions and parks. The home itself has charming decor, nice finishes, thoughtful design details. It has a quaint exterior as well. It’s also well equipped for cooking. Overall very comfortable and enjoyable living experience. The host is very responsive and willing to help with any issues.

It’s very central location and residential but still quiet and authentic. Many options for Supermarkets and also well connected with subway and walking distance to some tourist attractions/parks as well.

Everything was perfect!

First of all, the studio is gorgeous and very private with its own entrance. It is separate from the rest of the building and you will feel like it is your own space. I stayed for a month and it has everything you will need for a long stay. Maria was such a friendly, attentive, and gracious host. I was in the process of apartment hunting for a permanent move to Portugal, and she even helped me with that by getting in touch with local real estate agents she knows. Whatever I needed, I knew that I could ask her for it.

I would highly recommend staying here if it's available.

Neighborhood
The neighborhood is very convenient. There are tons of shops and restaurants very close by. There's a Continente supermarket about a 20 minute walk away, as well as a Pingo Doce about the same distance.

The Carolina Michaelis metro station is about a five minute walk away, giving easy access to the rest of the city. This stop is on the "main" line, so trains are very frequent. If you want to get to the touristy parts of the city center, it's trivial to get there by metro. If you'd rather walk to take in the sights, it's about 30-40 minutes from the studio depending on where you're going.
